That is so beautiful dear K9, all of those beautiful chickens, feathers and flowers. She is their earth mother, gentle keeper of the chickens, you can see it in hers eyes and hands. The girl doesn't look like you but your kindness is there and shines through. ♥
Hi Chicory, thanks for stopping by my page today. Of course, you are more than welcome to use my cat Sterling for subject matter! Would just love to receive a jpeg or print maybe, but help yourself!
I know who it is. It's Pat. A friend of mine who had her right one cut for cancer, and that would be why I won't say her last name.... But, despite the hair color, it's her. Nice smile, friend to any critter alive.
Dianne: i do love on my chickens. i remember when there was an outbreak of bird flu in china and there was a story about a little girl that died. and the parents were so upset (one child policy!) they were saying "we told her not to handle the chickens but she loved them so much....."
i did sell this painting yesterday.
foamy! thank you so much. im pleased with her boob. but aunty's right those shoulders arent too pretty.
pamokc: oh thats is for sure. if i paint sterling you'll get a copy. thank you. and welcome.
dani: did you see i added a link to your amzing world on my sidebar? i read every one of your chicken posts. what a great collection of feathered friends you have. i think i might buy a black chicken this year now that ive seen yours.
susan: did you decide on a new book to read? i liked the new work on Etsy. really beautiful for a children's room -any room!
mayden: oh you are too kind. thank you! xo
boney: it's pat? then should i send you a jpeg for her? or you can steal it from this page -its a pretty big file. click on it. and yes, we should all stay checked up on our "girls"
ABG: thank you. and i have to say i was BLOWN AWAY with your journal today. i cant believe you do that everyday. im impressed.
Dang, too late for the naked boob chicken lover woman. That's what I get for spending so much time trying to decipher the broken inner workings of my one toilet. But when a girl's got to pee...
Hi Chickory - I finally finished Middelesex and it was a great read - I loved it and next up, actually I began it this Sunday afternoon - I'm rereading The World According to Garp. Read it first over 20 years ago and loved it then. I would say it's a similar sort of story to Middlesex, very descriptive writing and loads of quirky character and subplots. What book is your book club reading ? ... and even more important - what goodies are a bakin' ? Wink. Cheers from Les GAng
Nice little painting! You creating all that clarity in 6"x6" is amazing. I like your background .., enlarged view of the world from the perspective height of a hen! So fun! Colors are a joy as usual...you are brilliant at colors. I think making the humans hair the same chestnut as the hen she is holding creates unity between species in a way that is more than visual. A delightful vision ArtDawg :-)
Found this on Misty Mawn's art blog and loved it. As a forest goddess, you will to: When I Am Among the Trees
When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness, I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, "Stay awhile." The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, "It's simple," they say, "and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine." ~ Mary Oliver
shamu: plumbing! its a great skill to have. we are a one bathroom household too so i recognize this is priority one.
susan: she makes these great litte samosas and cheese straws. mmmmmmm. we are going to read "in cold blood" because none of us have ever read it. youre reading garp? i think we have an irving coming up like message to owen somebody.....(?)
fishy: wow! you can review my work anytime! i didnt know why i gave the woman that hair but it was about color balance. it just shows how auto pilot i am - or instinctive. thank you so much! i am the mother hen of this house. im sure red would make a good mother but without a rooster.....
boxer: serene. ahhhhhhhh its easier in the forest thats for sure.
ABG: I love that! and i agree with it. a great affirmation...go easy with light and shine. very nice.
In Cold Blood is fantastic !!! and will go very well with samosas and cheese straws and then I recommend watching the movie Capote which is also tres amazing !! (watch all the directors extra bits included on the DVD) A Prayer For Owen Meeney - I've not read it (yet) but Irving fans consider it to be one of his best.
Beautiful. You do colors better than any artist ever! People who buy them know that. They aren't quite as amazing online unless you have super graphics on your puter.
It would be nice for ME if all the artwork I am asked to preview for clients was worth a glance, never mind a comment. I look at a lot of art as architecture, botanical structure, functional art like... appliances or lighting, furniture and right down to the dishes ... so I like to THINK after all this imagery absorption into the gray matter that I know GOOD when I see it...even if it is just a gargoyle... and your art is GREAT! A visual treat for this discerning Fishy.
You're such a hippy earth mother!
ReplyDelete:-)
who's she? I like her, but doan let nobody think thas' ya ownself cause I seen ya an' yore shoulders ain't sloped like that.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, fer a human, she's dang near as purty as yore chicks!
gnome: if it must be earth mother than let sun tzu be the father
ReplyDeleteaunty: thanks aunty! you know i have a bit of an aversion to painting people. i doan know who she is. but its not me. i dont think i would paint "me".

PS) Gives new meaning to the
ReplyDelete"MotherHen" concept.
I like the combination of a human surrounded by chickens. You've given her a great face. Serene.
