Oh featherdusters! I'm still wearing that silly wig, huh?

  12. There.
I found this here on the road.

That don''t make it a road apple, does it? I see over there on the side you were already tuned in to the phenomenon of dark up instead of light.
of course, the possum is at night, but more to the point, the colorful Mexican church, chapel and masoleums/grave stones below it.
The deer at next is very nice. We have a watercolorist who did a deer in a snow scene, a big ol' five point buck just standing around like they do, sometimes.
She won't make prints of it eventough I've mentioned that a lot of people I've toured throug there like it and would have wanted a print.
    Funny part?
She worked at a place that makes giclees (sp?) and could get them done cheap.

Nice work. Trout sitting so still, though. Kind'a meloncholic like.
Well, I best be getting my apple out'a here before it picks up a worm. That would draw in the hens like nobody's business!

yeah youre right boney, trout is always a little blue when still..i had to make her sit like that and she didnt like it. remember how sad she looked on that christmas card where i draped all the lights over her? but i think it makes a good "blue christmas" card.

i would be all over the giclees if i worked there! my problem with giclees is what people charge for them. i mean. come on! its a glorified ink jet printer. gack.

  14. absolutely....

I bought some of those danged canvas sheets that were supposed to be printable with a computer?
    What a waste of dollars.
I even tried to spiff up the terrible running (it was either that or it looked faded) within the fibers with real paint.
Bad idea...color matching took so much time I could recreate the danged things by hand faster than trying to dingle around like that.

I keep thinking I've left behind a small talent that I should reinvest some time (and, yeah, a few$) and that would be screen prints.

    Ah....the adventure, though, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  15. i would like to do some screen prints as well. i love that surface. and id like to layer art with photographs. have you ever used a letter press? i think my brother in law has one and id like to try to make a series using that.

i hate the canvas sheets. even when the print goes well. too much noise.

    ReplyDelete
  16. K9, ever thought of asking your brother in law for that press of his? Spect he would fetch it to you for a good weekend visit bout art and such...

  17. K9, Love this charming story in art! My chick has a similar looking dog to Trout...how can I get a print?

    ReplyDelete
  18. K9 I have just been looking at that drawing of 'back in the woods', it is really cute it would go well with some fiddle music. I also remember the photo of Trout with the Christmas lights, she looks adorable. What a good dog to sit so still. :) xoxox

  19. fishey,

i will send you a print! i believe your chicks hound is far redder than my own. as to the Brother in Law's press, i would like to go over and just see how the whole thing works. im not even sure -is it that you have to have all the metal letter things?

i am seeing a backlash against computer generated imagery and a real taste for handmade. at papyrus i saw several letter press based cottage co.'s with embossed and printed cards. they were lovely.

so good to see you here in at chickory. xo

dianne: thank you! how sweet! yes, fiddley blue grass music and a bubbly creek is the sound! xoxo

  20. when you mentioned the lights on Trout, I suddenly remembered...how very sad.

Well, I got this letter from a friend of mine, and though I'm sure she sent it to me by accident, I hink I know now wht her husband 'left' her so suddenly....

    Dear Tide
I am writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used it all of my married life, as my Mom always told me it was the best. Now that I am in my fifties I find it even better!
In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse. My inconsiderate uncaring bastard of a husband started to belittle me about how clumsy I was, and generally started becoming a real pain in the ass.
One thing led to another and somehow I ended up with his blood all over my new white blouse! I grabbed my bottle of Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all the stains came out!
In fact, the stains came out so well that the kind and considerate detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse came back negative and that I was no longer a suspect in the disappearance of my husband.
    Shuu, what a relief!
Going through menopause is bad enough without being a murder suspect! I thank you, once again, for having a great product.
Well, gotta go, have to write to the Hefty bag people.
