I picked a few of these up during our walk at Chickory last year. They look like soup bowls for very tiny forest people. Or hats.

The ability to find beauty, or maybe just interest, in ordinary objects is the hallmark of a true artist.

Along with the stone underlay I get a deep sense of earth. We were not only gifted with life and the senses, but things to put those to beautiful use. You do have a way of capturing those things, woman. :)

Reminds me of a commercial filmed years ago in ATL on which my friends were serving as key grips (or gaffers or best boys or something), and part of the task was lining up hundreds of golf tees to achieve a certain effect when the camera panned past them.

Dawg, Aunty is nearly daid. I cain't post as Aunty, only as ANON.

Blogger put Aunty in a coma--not sure if they will revive her Porches. Cain't seem to git no help from the Blogger contact links--they may think the Porches is spam.

I'se filled in the forms they suggest, but not sure how long it takes to receive a reply. Or, how long before the loss is permanent.

May I borrow your blog to appeal fer help? Anybody wif' a good idea about what to do?

please email me at:

I wish I could help Aunty, I went through something similar. I have no idea how, why, or who cleared me. I only know that I was quite frustrated. I could still access my blog and was screaming my head off about it, and grumping where I could. Mine went on for months.

Good luck.

They are so pretty in their colours and textures and you have arranged them so nicely. Do they have a lovely fragrance?

Chickory All I can think of is little nut brown pixie-like woodland creatures wearing these on their heads.

I love this post. It says nothing but everything. What are you going to do with these? Looks like they should be filled with some chocolate or top some Christas candy. Or ornament tops. BTW, I have a load more bottle caps. Let me know if you need them.

Love acorn caps. I think they'd make nice hats for little fieldmice!

So Chickory, what kind of oak does this two by two acorn production that allowed you to make such an interesting composition?

Hi Ande

Your love of detail endures.

I hope you are well, not too stressed by the vagaries and irritations of "the market" and still feeling a creative kernel alive within you.

My best to you for 2012
